Hi there! I’m Emily and I design digital experiences for my community.

I'm a user experience and branded systems designer whose work reflects my earnest passion for community-enriching initiatives. We all want to make the world a better place. What better way to do that than to start small, look in your own backyard, and do what you can with the your available talents? That is what drives me to create.

I advocate for modular, scalable, and inclusive design systems. A proponent of Brad Frost's Atomic Design methodology, I craft human-centered systems and experiences, focused on flexibility and accessibility. My process involves a lot of abstract thinking and exploration, while staying grounded by avoiding excessive analysis and reinventing the wheel. I find joy in transforming complex processes into clear and understandable experiences. I don't want my audiences to "see" my designs, but rather, be assisted by them.

Now let's do a silly one!

Born and raised a Hoosier with two older brothers, I graduated from Indiana University with a B.A. in Studio Art and Graphic Design, minoring in Art History. When I'm not at work, I'm an illustrator. I also enjoy hiking, biking, traveling, baking, and cooking. My penchant for birds is unrivaled and one day I hope to run a budgie aviary. A woman can dream!
